So today I decided to go look at women’s football at Bath Estate and I must say, I haven’t seen such one sided games in a LONG time.
Today, Goodwill Runners played LaPlaine in the first game. At half time the score was Goodwill 5 – 0 LaPlaine. The LaPlaine players went into a huddle with their coach and had their team talk and I expected them to make the second half exciting. The second half was exciting because Goodwill scored 10 goals in the second half to make the final score 15 nil! You may want to check DFA’s website to confirm the final score (when they update their site) because I think I lost count somewhere between goals 11 and 15.
In the second game, New Generation Sports Club played Bioche and just like the first game, this one was very one sided. The first half saw New Generation score 5 unanswered goals and in similar fashion, Bioche went into a huddle with the coach and I expected a better second half. The second half started with a bang as New Generation scored two goals in quick succession. Those two goals were followed by 7 more to make the final score 14 nil! There was an injury to one of the New Generation girls due to a deliberate kick to the stomach by Bioche #20 who only received a yellow card (the ref’s decision making was suspect). Again, you may want to check DFA’s website to confirm the final score.
Two games, two unbelievable score lines. The second game was more one sided than the first but both ended in the winning teams improving their goal difference. Congrats to Goodwill Runners and New Generation Sports Club and may you guys continue to play well.
