Yesterday was a great day in the Mahaut Football League as there were lots of goals in the two matches between Genesis FC v Play 4 and Ale Monde v D.C.P.

In the first game Genesis FC v Play 4, Genesis FC took the lead off a great header from Sean McManus. Play 4 equalised in about 10 munites but the Orange Army of Canefield regained the lead just before the half.

At the start of the second half, Play 4 pressured Genesis but got a player sent off by the ref and that changed the game. Genesis then scored three (3) goals, two by Abdal Abraham and one by Delroy Coipel, in the second half to win by a score line of 5 – 1.

In the second game, Ale Monde v D.C.P., D.C.P. got off to an excellent start by scoring 4 goals in the first half. Ale Monde managed to pull one back though but also managed to get a player sent off in the process.

The second half was began with a bang as D.C.P. and Ale Monde both scored goals in quick succession to make the score 6 – 2 in D.C.P’s favour. A mix up in the defense saw Ale Monde score another goal to narow the defisit. Consistent pressure on the D.C.P. defense resulted in another goal for Ale Monde making the score 6 – 4. However the comeback seemed to be over as D.C.P. scored a seventh goal with less than 10 minutes to go. However, 10 men Ale Monde continued to press and scored a fifth goal close to the 90′ but time was against them and they could not complete the come back. So the game ended Ale Monde 5 – 7 D.C.P.
